All of our active ingredients are backed by science and selected based on the American Academy of Dermatology’s acne treatment guidelines.

Benzoyl Peroxide: A powerful acne-fighting agent, Benzoyl Peroxide is the #1 dermatologist-recommended ingredient for acne treatment products.

Salicylic Acid: This beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) penetrates pores to dissolve debris and oil. Salicylic Acid helps prevent acne and unclog and minimize the appearance of pores.

Adapalene: The first FDA-approved topical retinoid, Adapalene is effective in combating stubborn acne and is used in treatments focused on long-term skin clarity.

Consult a dermatologist before using a scrub when you have active acne.

Scrubs can lead to more inflammation (increasing the risk of acne scars) and spread bacteria.

Using PanOxyl^® and another topical acne medication (or scrub) at the same time may increase irritation and dryness.

If irritation does occur, use only one topical acne medication at a time (one product in the morning and the other in the evening).

Benzoyl Peroxide is a topical acne medication that’s antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and that clears pores.

Acne Foaming Wash and Acne Treatment Bar help treat and clear even the worst breakouts with 10% Benzoyl Peroxide, the maximum strength concentration available without a prescription. Acne Creamy Wash with 4% Benzoyl Peroxide is still powerful enough to fight acne, but it’s a gentler formulation containing three humectants and four emollients to help combat dryness.

Both Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid treat acne, but they work very differently.

Salicylic Acid exfoliates the skin to help unblock pores.
